About Us
Our CBD products have the only Kohala grown hemp CBD and include the healthy full spectrum of compounds found in hemp oil to support the entourage effect. For 41 years, we have been farming organically and regeneratively in Hawaii and were issued the first licenses to grow hemp by the State in May, 2108 and the US Departments of Agriculture in October, 2020. Hawaii Royal Hemp is the only farm in the state to poly crop food with hemp to support a diversity of microbe structures and microbes for optimal soil and plant health. We are a family owned and operated farm and hand-craft all our value added products. Depending on the season, look for our produce on Food Hub website - it's nutritionally grown! For the last 25+ years, we have made Bokashi with Effective Microorganisms, a soil probiotic that increases plant health, crop yields, and decreases pests and water needs. It's perfect for the farmer and home gardener. For large farm and field applications schedule a consultation with our farmer, Cab Baber.
Practices
Our farmer and owner, Cab Baber, co-founded the Hawaii Organic Farmers Association (HOFA) decades ago and worked with the State in the 1990s to prove the effectiveness of regenerative practices in Hawaii. We mulch the farm beds (no plastic weed mat), we do not till (any tilling disturbs the mycelium in the soil that support nutrient uptake and plant health), use of Bokashi/effective microorganisms which we've been making for 25+ years on-island, make and apply fermentations, compost on farm beds for efficiency, use of minerals and limu to ensure we are always building soil and never taking from the land. Of course no herbicides or pesticides. Cab co-founded the Hawaii Island Hemp Council in 1990 and helped coordinate stakeholders around the state to get the first hemp legislation passed in Hawaii to help move Hawaii towards greater sustainability. Hemp is a great cover crop, food, fuel, and fiber.
