Kohala Food Hub is an aggregator, distributor, and online marketplace of tasty locally grown and produced food. Our farmers are working together to meet the growing demand for local, sustainable food in the Kohala area and beyond. Our market also serves the Kohala Farm to School program, where our local cafeterias are able to buy local fresh fruits and veggies from local folks.

Our marketplace brings fresh, healthy, locally grown and produced food to you, the buyer, on a weekly basis.

Ordering from Kohala Food Hub helps to build and support our farming community, economy, and regenerative agriculture practices that preserve the 'aina.

Our aim in the coming weeks is to be a resource for the community to continue accessing local food while our Hawi Farmers Market is closed. Our Farmers are increasing their online offerings and we continue to make food safety and sanitation practices our highest priority.

Kupuna CareWe are beginning to create weekly produce subscription boxes for local kupuna, our elders, which will be delivered to their homes by volunteers taking the utmost health and safety precautions. These boxes are a $20 value (offered at sliding-scale) and made up of contributions from several local producers. We are accepting sponsorships on the product page for the community to help provide boxes for elders who are not able to pay.  Sign up or request more information on this form.

Delivery: Limited home delivery is available for orders. Because we are mostly volunteer-staffed and trying to prioritize the needs of the most vulnerable in our community, we ask that those who are able do pick up at the food hub to allow us to better serve the elderly and at high-risk.

Volunteers: As our orders increase and we work on expanding our community offerings, please consider contacting us to help with our community food access efforts.

Visit our Product List page to see what is available. We're growing and so is our product list. Check the website weekly for new items.

Kohala Food Hub is a long-standing dream of multiple community organizations, individuals, funders, and legislative stakeholders to create a community food aggregation site in Kohala.

Increasing production and community infrastructure has never been more important. Through generous investments by the Hawaii Department of Agriculture and the State of Hawaii we have been able to revitalize a local facility at Kohala Wishing Well in Hawi.

KFH was developed by HIP Agriculture to address multiple needs within our community and the State of Hawaii. We noticed that many farmers in our community, including ourselves, lacked access to cold storage. This limited our ability to aggregate and store produce, which is a vital element for farmers to access new markets and increase production. The food hub offers cold and freezer storage access and a wash pack facility for small local food producers.

The ultimate goal of the food hub is to increase the amount of local food grown, aggregated, and distributed to our community members and institutions. In turn, this helps farmers gain access to new markets, increasing their income and long-term sustainability.
